How to forecast people flow?
In PoDoCo project Juho Kokkala together with KONE applied mathematical methods to forecast people flow in buildings. The project was closely linked to KONE’s vision to deliver the best people flow experience. “I am privileged applying the mathematics for developing KONE’s leading customer experience further” states Juho who is now continuing the work as permanent basis in KONE.
Grant year brings business and academic research closer
PoDoCo program bring postdocs and companies together accelerating the co-creation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. The seamless collaboration between PhD Otto Långvik and Mirka under the PoDoCo program is another example how dynamic business and advanced academic research can learn from each other and build competences for further growth.
PoDoCo project pushed lightweight vessel forward
Ingrit Lillemäe-Avi investigated the fatigue strength of high strength steel with Meyer Turku under the PoDoDo program. The results show significantly improved fatigue strength of this innovative steel pushing lightweight vessel forward. Ingrit is now employed by Meyer Turku and continues the research work with the aim to introduce high strength steel in vessel structures.
